 Where are you guys based? I’m based in L.A. I moved back from Nashville because my husband lives out here, and we’d been long-distance for almost ten years. All for music! I was focused on music, and he was focused on starting his law firm. It just worked out. We were really, really committed to each other. We’ve definitely had our ups and downs, but it works. Now we’re in a pandemic, but this is the first time we’ve been able to spend real time with each other since 2012.

First off, how are you holding up right now?I’m good! Just holding my baby.Oh, wow! How old?One month. It’s so wild. I love him so much, he’s just the sweetest.What has it been like adjusting to parenthood when there’s so much going on with your career—and in the world? Nobody talks about that fourth trimester! The first two weeks after you have the baby are really challenging, or at least they were for me. Talking to a lot of women, I’m hearing that; it’s just such an adjustment. But you know, I wouldn’t have it any other way. I literally just sit there and stare at him all day and can’t believe I grew him and birthed him. He’s so sweet…but he’s crying right now. (Laughs.)
